CP - Where did you guys get married?
M&G - Pauanui Spit and reception at Tairua Beach Club
CP - Did you have a clear vison for the theme or style of your wedding, and how did you come to it, did you collaborate on this together?
M&G - We spend a lot of time at the Beach so this was really important. It needed to be close to the water and sand - our happy place. Luckily friends had a similar wedding so we used lots of their amazing ideas - like ferrying guests over from Tairua to Pauanui for the ceremony.
CP - Was there a long period of planning or where you more spontaneous in how it all came together?
M&G - It was a bit of a shotgun wedding as guys parents were coming from England. We had to organise in a few months with a baby!
We planned logistics the night before - so yes parts were very spontaneous.
CP - How did you choose your wedding jewellery, and was there a special story behind any of the pieces?
M&G - My family home is in Devonport and I’ve always loved Charlotte Penman. We came and tried rings together and then Guy surprised me with the daisy chain hoops for the wedding day. I also love hoops - they’re def a bit of a signature look for me.
CP - Was there any unexpected or surprising moments during your wedding day that have come fun memories?
M&G - Absolutely beautiful speeches. We were both so humbled and felt honoured to have such gorgeous words spoken about us.
The other suprise was the perfect coro summers day. Bluebird and just divine
CP - What song did you choose for your first dance, and why does it hold special meaning for you both?
M&G - Mave & Dave - You are Delicious. It’s just such a vibe and we find each other “delicious, delectable, cool and respectable” so it was a great fit haha.
CP - Did you go on a honeymoon and if so where to?
M&G - Glamping with the kids at Tatapouri. Gisborne will always hold a special place in our hearts.
