C- Where did you guys get married?
H&G - We eloped to Las Vegas to get married. It was the best decision for us, as both our families live overseas and we wanted to do something special for just the two of us. We had visited Las Vegas together when I was pregnant with my daughter so it was somewhere we wanted to return to enjoy fully!
C - Did you have a clear vison for the theme or style of your wedding, and how did you come to it, did you collaborate on this together?
H&G - When we decided Vegas was the place for us, the theme quickly came together as we wanted to embrace the glitz and glamour of the town. We found the coolest little chapel that has retro Vegas vibes which helped us with the direction we wanted to go.
C - Was there a long period of planning or where you more spontaneous in how it all came together?
H&G - We were very spontaneous! We decided to get married at Christmas time and were tying the knot by May.
C - How did you choose your wedding jewellery, and was there a special story behind any of the pieces?
H&G - I wore a necklace that my mum had given me with my initials on it. I also found some vintage earrings with pearls and hearts that fit the bill perfectly.
C - Was there any unexpected or surprising moments during your wedding day that have come fun memories?
H&G - We had planned to elope just the two of us, but in the end my best friend came too which was really fun. She happened to be in Mexico at the same time so made the trip up and met us at a dive bar outside the chapel on the wedding day. We got married whilst she got a tattoo at a place next door, then we all went out for a classic Vegas steak dinner. It was divine.
C - What song did you choose for your first dance, and why does it hold special meaning for you both?
H&G - We didn't have a first dance or walk down the aisle, or do any traditional wedding things. We kept it very simple.
C - Did you go on a honeymoon and if so where to?
H&G - After the wedding we had 5 days in Sin City before heading home to New Zealand and our children.
